Around the world, organizations and individuals are working to create stronger and more equitable communities.   They have the vision, but lack the capacity to fully realize their plans. The Ignite Initiative was designed to bridge that gap.

Since 2017, Ignite projects have connected ICF-credentialed coaches with social change leaders around the world through structured six-month engagements, offered at reduced cost or pro bono. These partnerships strengthen leadership, build resilience, and accelerate progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Real Impact, Globally

Across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as the Americas, Ignite Initiative projects  show how coaching  meaningful, measurable change.

A look at the numbers shows what recent cohorts have achieved:

  • 77 projects advancing social impact initiatives.
  • 1,403 clients served through professional coaching.
  • 4,670 coaching hours delivered by ICF-credentialed coaches.
  • 48 ICF chapters engaged worldwide.

These numbers reflect more than participation. They represent stronger leaders, more resilient organizations, and communities better equipped to create lasting change.

What sets the Ignite Initiative program apart is not just what leaders learn but how they grow and lead differently as a result. .

Results from a global partnership with the Special Olympics, leaders across Africa and Latin America experienced coaching as a transformative leadership practice rather than a one‑time training.

As one partner leader shared:

“Coaching was more impactful than seminars — it targets one’s nature and character and helps individuals make the right decisions for the communities they lead.”
