ICF Foundation Receives 2024 Power Of Associations Silver Award For Impact Of Coaching On Leadership: 2022-2023 ICF Foundation, ICF Ukraine Chapter & Academy D.TEK Project

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) Foundation earned a 2024 Power of Associations Silver Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its successful Impact of Coaching on Leadership: 2022-2023 ICF Foundation, ICF Ukraine Chapter & Academy D.TEK Project.

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) Foundation has been recognized as a Power of Associations Silver Award by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its successful Impact of Coaching on Leadership: 2022-2023 ICF Foundation, ICF Ukraine Chapter & Academy D.TEK Project.

A few months into the Russia-Ukraine war, the International Coaching Federation (ICF) received requests from its members based in Ukraine about receiving support in the form of coaching to assist with the impact of the conflict and to pro-actively mitigate the impact of the conflict through Academy D.TEK. Founded in 2010, Academy D.TEK provides leadership development to employees and senior executives of the Academy D.TEK Strategic holding company and external parties. Recognizing that a large and targeted engagement was needed to assist stakeholders in Ukraine impacted by the conflict, Academy D.TEK, the ICF Foundation, and the ICF Ukraine Chapter partnered with an ambitious mission to provide executive coaching to 500 leaders in Ukraine and Europe. The project ran from August 2022 through December 2023.

Initially, each ICF global and ICF Ukraine credentialed coach provided ten pro bono coaching sessions to fifteen coaching clients. Later, the ICF Ukraine Chapter collaborated with the ICF Foundation to recruit Ukrainian-speaking coaches, which resulted in one hundred fifty (150) ICF-credentialed coaches engaged with two hundred thirty-four (234) coaching clients and leaders. Through monthly coaching sessions, coaching clients explored their beliefs, values, and aspirations, unlocking a deeper understanding of themselves and their leadership style. Coaching was delivered in Ukrainian and English on the following areas: challenging conversations, creating a vision, and influencing.

“Congratulations to the ICF Foundation for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative.”

“The International Coaching Federation (ICF)’s vision is to create a world where coaching is integral to transforming societies. In support of this vision, the IFC Foundation strives to accelerate and amplify social system changes through access to professional coaching services. This collaboration with D.TEK Academy and ICF Ukraine allowed the ICF Foundation to build awareness about the power of coaching in creating social impact with measurement and data that show that impact,” said ICF Foundation Vice President Coura Badiane, MBA, CAE.

In addition to the ICF Foundation’s award, ICF received two additional 2024 Power of Associations Silver Awards. “We are honored to receive three Power of Association Awards from ASAE,” said Magdalena Nowicka Mook, ICF CEO. “This recognition once again highlights the broad spectrum of our initiatives and the far-reaching impact we have as One ICF. Our commitment to excellence and innovation in the coaching industry continues to drive meaningful change and inspire transformation globally.”
